5 Headline Tools That Will Give You Killer Titles and More Blog Traffic

Not getting enough page views on your content? Your headline might be to blame.

Headline’s can make or break a blog posts success. Therefore, if your post isn’t performing, one of the first things you should check is the quality of your title.

That’s because nobody will read your article if they don’t want to click on your headline. Headlines are a significant factor in the number of page views a certain website will receive. Quality content of course matters, but not if people don’t click on the title to read the content first.

Qualities That are found in a Great Headline

How to Get Attention Photo-min.jpg

Headlines that convert into readers have a variety of important factors. These include:

  • Proper Keywords (to rank in Google!)

  • Emotion to Draw Attention

  • Lists When Relevant (i.e. 5 Ways to Grow Your Page)

  • Answer a Question/Problem (i.e. How to…)

  • Are Easy to Understand

However, combining most of these features into a perfect sentence can be rather difficult. That’s where this list of free tools comes in.

Below are 5 headline generators every blogger, freelancer, and business owner should be utilizing.

And… if you don’t enjoy reading the details of every single generator, here is a list you can copy and save for future use.

  1. CoSchedule

  2. Portent’s Content Idea Generator

  3. Hubspot Blog Topic Generator

  4. Tweak Your Biz Title Generator

  5. Impact Blog Title Generator

HEADLINE GENERATORS

CoSchedule Headline Generator

CoSchedule’s headline tool is one of the most popular tools for bloggers. It works not by generating ideas, but instead by analyzing your headline and producing a report. It tells you what works and what doesn’t.

All you have to do is enter your title into the generator box and it will produce report with the results. An example of this is below.

CoSchedule Headline Analyzer.

Portent’s Content Idea Generator

Portent’s Content Idea Generator is just that - an idea. It’s a simple and fun platform that gives you a variety of ideas to work with. Very rarely do I find it to be the end all to my blogging struggles; however, I do find it to help give me much higher performing ideas.

As you can see below, all you need to do is type in your topic where it says “enter your subject here” and it will kick you out a combination of fun and interactive sentences.

Hubspot Blog Topic Generator

Hubspot Blog Topic Generator is my personal favorite. Type in a noun and Hubspot will kick you out a list of headlines that will last you a month or even a year.

Hubspot Topic Generator Screenshot.jpg

As you can see above, you simply have to type in a noun into your blog ideas generator shown above. Then you will be give a short free list. However, to gain hundreds of ideas surrounding that topic, all you need to do is enter your email address into their newsletter. As you can see below, they gave me 250 blogging headlines that I can download as a spreadsheet and keep in my records.

Tweak Your Biz Title Generator

Tweak Your Biz title generator is similar to Hubspot. It works by giving you a long list of headline suggestions based on your topic of choice. The nice thing about Tweak Your Biz is that you are able to select “noun” or “verb”. You will then receive a long list of suggestions. You can see an example of this below.

Impact Blog Title Generator

Impact Blog Title Generator

The Impact Blog Title Generator is similar to the Potent Blog Content Generator mentioned above. It’s clean, simple, and is perfect to quickly create a catchy title when you need one.

Which Headline Generator is Best For You?

Picking the right headline generator depends on a few things:

  • Your topic (some topics work better with certain generators)

  • The amount of time you have

  • The brainstorming or refining stage (do you need ideas or do you need a title tweak?)

I sometimes find that using a combination of all of these generators work the best. For example, I might pick two or three from the list above and then refine them in CoSchedule.

The key is to understand that blogging and freelancing is all about consistency over time. Your blog will grow, you will become better at writing, your income increases over time. Therefore using the tools mentioned above are great for not only improve click through, but keeping a long and consistent list of blog topics to write about.

How to Add Hashtags (#) to YouTube (Plus Everything you want to know!)

Grow your YouTube account with hashtags.

Hashtags are EVERYWHERE. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook (with limited benefit), and Pinterest use them. Now even the major platform, YouTube, has added them.

However, not many people understand how, why, or where to add them.

That’s why I’ve decided to put together a guide on JUST HOW to use hashtags on the YouTube platform. I’ve also put together a long list of the frequently asked questions surrounding YouTube hashtags that I know so many of you are asking!

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HASHTAGS ON YOUTUBE

The goal of YouTube hashtags is to help make your video more searchable. It groups similar videos together, helps users find relevant videos when searching, and helps tell YouTube what your content is about. It’s a new feature in the YouTube algorithm and it shouldn’t be ignored.

Has it really caught on in YouTube?

In most niches, I would say not yet. Obviously YouTube has a plan for them or else they wouldn’t be there at all. However, adding hashtags aren’t going to revolutionize your account. What they can do; however, is assist in your videos being found by more people. Therefore, helping you grow your account over time.

Also, if YouTube took the time and expense to add them to their platform, it’s in your benefit to use them. There is likely a longterm plan on implementing them.

How many hashtags should you add?

Well, for starters only three will be added above the title. As for tagging more…

Here is a direct quote from Google (who owns YouTube):

Over-tagging: Don't add too many tags in a single video. The more tags you add to a video, the less relevant they become for users who are searching. If a video has more than 15 hashtags, we'll ignore all hashtags on that video. Over-tagging may result in the removal of your video from your uploads or from search.”

I recommend adding 3 total.

Where should you add hashtags?

You should add them to the the description of your video as shown below. Although some people recommend adding them to the title, I do not. They don’t look as neat that way. Instead add them only to the description (anywhere you want in the description).

Add hashtags to the YouTube description

Although it’s pretty straight forward, I DID make a tutorial for you to follow below.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO ADDING HASHTAGS ON YOUTUBE

As mentioned Hashtags can be added in the description or title; but, I highly recommend you just put them in the description. When you put them in the description, the first 3 will automatically appear in the title as shown below.

You can find my outdoor YouTube channel here: Nicole Stone Outdoors

  1. When you begin, find out which hashtags have quality videos. For example, below I checked the #icefishing for videos.

Above is an example of a YouTube hashtag (#) search.

Above is an example of a YouTube hashtag (#) search.

2. Pick at least 3 hashtags to the end of your description in your video (in the YouTube editor studio) as seen below.

Adding Hashtags to Video.jpg

3. Once you have added hashtags (I recommend only 3, but anything over 15 will be discarded), save your description. The hashtags should now appear as a blue link.

YouTube Image 1.jpg

4. After you have added them and hit save, check your title to see if they show up above it. For an example, check out the image below!

That’s it! You’ve done it!

Easiest tip ever, right?!

I also recommend going back to old videos and doing the same.

Growing Your YouTube Account

Social Media success is made through an accumulation of small steps over time. By taking your time to work on these small details, invest in your audience, and produce quality content your account WILL grow. Most accounts don’t go viral, instead they depend on small details like these to develop into large brands. Best of all, the audience you will build this way will be engaging and hard earned.

5 Hacks to Rapidly Grow Your Facebook Page for FREE

Facebook pages are one of the greatest resources for bloggers and businesses in any niche. This is because Facebook’s CTR (link click through rate) is incredibly high compared to other platforms. This makes Facebook invaluable.

For those who aren’t familiar, CTR is the metric representing the number of people who click on a link you share. This link can be a blog post, website, YouTube channel, email list, product for sale, and more. For most businesses, this link is the purpose behind having a Facebook page in the first place.

However, one of the biggest misconceptions about Facebook is that you have to “pay to play” now. This is absolutely not true, and I’m going to break down why this isn’t the case below.

facebook’s incredible return on investment

I started playing around with a Facebook page about a year ago. At this point I had little knowledge on how the platform actually worked (outside of my personal account). However, I didn’t let this stop me and instead kept posting and taking notes on the patterns that I noticed.

Then… I took Hannah Hudson’s “Beating the 1%” seminar (and eventually course) and my Facebook page engagement and growth went through the roof.

To further your knowledge you can check out Hannah Hudson’s website here - and if you want to learn more about the algorithm make sure to enroll in her HSH Teachable course.

I now reach tens of thousands of people for FREE. I did this by giving Facebook what it wants (organic content) and providing an interacting platform. You can check out my outdoor Facebook page here as evidence.

Over the course of roughly one year I’ve EARNED all of my likes and follows; therefore reaching tens of thousands of people.

For example, check out the post below:

I reach tens of thousands of people with 5,000 hard earned followers.

I reach tens of thousands of people with 5,000 hard earned followers.

I reached 25,989 people organically. Much of this is from my followers and then my followers sharing on their pages and in groups. Sharing is only a benefit if you:

1) Have built up quality followers and reach of your own (not just friends and family)

2) Your followers who share have built up engagement of their own.

Therefore having quality accounts engage in your content is essential to organic growth.

You have to earn your engagement or Facebook won’t show your content to anyone - even if it’s shared to a group.

To achieve this level of engagement, remember the golden rule: Facebook wants you (and everyone else) on their platform to stay on their platform for as long as possible. As I’ve discussed in numerous other posts this means:

  • Don’t treat Facebook as a billboard

  • Don’t pull from it frequently

  • Content is king - the more people who like the content you are posting, the more people your content will be shown to

  • Organic/native content is a must

In conclusion, you need to post high quality, original content frequently and then interact with the followers who interact with you.

Growing Your Page

Now, having 100,000 Facebook page ‘likes” or “follows” is useless if you reach no one. Unfortunately I’ve seen this time and time again with big accounts. I determine that:

1) They bought their followers

2) They ran their account to the ground by using it as billboard

You don’t want this. Take your time and do it right.

Now that we have established a baseline, below are 5 ways that you can grow your page and engagement for free.

5 free ways to grow your facebook page

  1. INVITE PEOPLE TO “LIKE” YOUR PAGE

This is a simple and an incredibly efficient method to grow any page. The key to this strategy; however, is to post quality content consistently. Don’t post links, re-shares, memes, or other content randomly. Instead, post organic/native content.

This is the content Facebook prefers and therefore will freely promote to other individuals. This allows more likes on each post. The more likes you have on a post, the more people you can invite to like your page as shown below.

Invite people to like your page when they like your post.

As you can see above, once you click on the “Likes” it will open up a platform to “Invite” people to your page. Do this by clicking the “Invite” button as shown by the red arrow above.

Do this on every Facebook post you choose to publish. Don’t be afraid to go back to old post and invite other people as well.

SHARE POSTS DIRECTLY TO LARGE GROUPS

Facebook groups are incredibly beneficial to any marketing strategy. They help individuals make connections, support each other, ask questions, and even grow their Facebook pages.

In fact, I have an in depth article on Facebook groups called the “Secret Way to Explode Your Blog Traffic” if you wish to learn more.

One of the biggest ways it can help you grow your page is through sharing directly from your page to the group. The key to this is “sharing” and not directly posting. Many people organically post to groups, which is great, but not going to help you in this particular goal.

To help clarify I have added a tutorial below.

Share high quality Facebook posts directly to groups to reach more people and receive more views.

Share high quality Facebook posts directly to groups to reach more people and receive more views.

The post above has been shared in Facebook groups, thus leading to over 11,000 video views. Exposing this video to groups has also led to more views, increased engagement, and a significant increase in Facebook page likes and follows.

In case you aren’t familiar, I have set up step-by-step instructions to do this below:

  1. Go to the bottom right hand corner and select “Share” as shown in the image below.

Facebook Page Share Part 1.jpg

2. Next, you are going to want to select “share in a group”. This is NOT the default, therefore make sure you select the right one.

How to Share to a Page Instructions.jpg

3. Finally, type in the box the name of the group you want to share to and add a quality caption as shown in the image below.

How to Share to a Facebook Group 3.jpg

4. Then hit “post” as shown in the bottom right corner in the picture above.

That’s it! You have successfully shared a post to a Facebook group.

Just keep in mind that not all Facebook groups allow this; therefore check the group rules before posting.

PARTICIPATE IN FACEBOOK GROUP THREADS

In the blogging world, participation threads are common and incredibly beneficial. These groups are dedicated to bloggers for blogging. Often times, social support and Facebook page growth are part of these threads. For example, check out the Blogging for New Bloggers thread below:

Above is an example of a social media share thread where you can share your Facebook page with others.

Above is an example of a social media share thread where you can share your Facebook page with others.

This thread encourages social media sharing. As a member, you can drop a link to the social media platform of your choice while reciprocating engagement with five others. This is easy to do and very beneficial.

I have numerous posts dedicated to this that I recommend you read in-depth to learn more. These are:

USE LARGE AND ENGAGING PAGES

Just like with big Facebook groups, shares from big (and engaging) pages are essential to growing your page quickly. For instance, when a large Facebook page such as Wide Open Spaces share my post, I have access to a big chunk of their audience. If this audience likes my content, it generally leads to more Facebook page follows and likes. If Wide Open Spaces gets a solid response from their followers (likes and comments) they will keep sharing my content and therefore more of their followers will keep liking my page. This can bring sustainable page growth over time.

When large accounts share my post, my page link gets shared as well - leading to more followers.

When large accounts share my post, my page link gets shared as well - leading to more followers.

So how can you get large Facebook pages to share your content? Well first of all it takes posting quality content consistently. Then I recommend you try a variation of the following:

  • Reach out to a variety of large Facebook pages

  • Post in large groups (as mentioned above)

  • Actively comment and promote their page to get their attention

  • Get an account that they consistently repost to share some of your content

Trying a variety of these tactics can often help gain the attention of larger brands and pages.

USE YOUR PERSONAL PAGE TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS PAGE

Did you know you can invite your personal Facebook friends to like your page?

If you are willing to sacrifice your personal account for your brand or business then this can be an incredible way to grow your page (and improve your engagement).

This is one of the things I do.

I accept friend requests from everyone who has a profile in my niche and looks respectable. I then invite these individuals to “Like” my page as shown below. I find that the crossover allows me to have a higher reach as well.

To do this, you need to locate the community tab on the right hand side of your Facebook page. Under this tab there should be an “Invite Friends” button as shown below.

Invite Facebook Friends to Like your Page

After you tap the “Invite Friends” button a feature should open up allowing you to invite your friends to like your page. This is demonstrated below.

You can invite your personal Facebook friends to like your Facebook page as shown above.

You can invite your personal Facebook friends to like your Facebook page as shown above.

Then simply tap the “Invite” button next to all of your friends names. That’s it!

Conclusion

These tips can work for everyone. However, let me continue to emphasize that NONE of this matters if you don’t focus on two things first:

1) Quality content

2) Consistently posting this quality content

Learn what your audience wants and when. If people don’t respond well to a post then take a note of it.

It's through posting quality content in a consistent manner that you can build a real and engaging following.

If you’d like to learn more bout this I recommend that you read my post on understanding what social media wants:

The 5 BEST SEO Keyword Tools For FREE (Gain Google Traffic!)

Use the right Google SEO Keyword tools to boost your organic reach with your blog or website.

Google is the best place to receive abundant and sustainable website traffic. Keyword research is one of the biggest “keys” to finding success in doing so. This works by identifying the common words and phrases that people type in the search engine. By using these common words, you can help tell Google what your content is about and therefore improve your chance at ranking.

For example, if you want to write an article on social media, make sure the phrase “social media” is strategically embedded throughout your post.

So what’s the catch? A lot of websites are trying to rank for “social media” so it’s up to you to find what words your website is capable of ranking for. One of the subjects I rank for is “ Become an Instagram Public Figure” . Considering there was no way I could rank for “Instagram” finding a phrase people search (with less competition) was important.

SEO KEYWORD BASICS

Once you find the right keywords (which we will go through shortly) they should be embedded within:

  • The URL

  • The Title

  • One or Two Headings

  • Throughout the Post (however, don’t “stuff” them in there)

  • Photo Title/Captions (alt. text)

These keywords need to be naturally placed, not forced.

It’s also important to note that keywords are far from the only factor that contributes to rankings. At the end of the day, Google simply wants to put the best content in front of its users; therefore, keeping people using the platform. To do this, the algorithm considers:

  • Time Spent on Page

  • Backlinks

  • Domain Age and Authority

  • Bounce Rate

  • Mobilization

  • User Experience

  • and More!

In fact, I go more in-depth on this subject in my Google SEO article found here.

Of course none of this matters if Google doesn’t understand the purpose of your content. That’s why this article will focus solely on keyword research tools to help you do just that.

HOW KEYWORD RESEARCH WORKS

Understanding keyword research is an important part of any marketing plan. Use these 5 keyword tool to help you on your way!

Keyword research works by finding keywords your website can rank for. For example, if you want to write about purse shopping then your blog should include the words “purse shopping” throughout it. However, a lot of websites are competing for that phrase - that’s why it’s important to use longer phrases.

As a new or small business or blog, this generally means using long-tail keywords. Long-tail is simply a phrase or a sentence (usually with more than 3 words) that have less competition and more possibilities.

For example:

  • Become an Instagram Public Figure - Long-Tail

  • Instagram Public Figure - Long-Tail

  • Instagram - Keyword (tough to rank against big websites)

It is possible to rank for any or all of these words. However, it’s going to be a lot easier to rank for “Become an Instagram Public Figure” and “Instagram Public Figure” then it is to rank for “Instagram”.

This is because there are many different sentences that the word “Instagram” can fall into. However, “Instagram public figure” is much more direct.

For example, when someone wants to know about the Facebook algorithm, they will type in “Facebook algorithm” into the search engine. If you have an authoritative website (one that has built up engagement ) you therefore might rank in Google.

If you don’t have an authority website (yet) then you may want to focus on longer phrases such as “How to Understand the Facebook Algorithm”.

Keyword research is an essential part to ranking in Google.

That’s why proper Google keyword research is one of the biggest keys to ranking on the platform.

To find these keywords it’s important that you utilize a keyword research too. There are 4 tools I recommend everyone try out. These are:

  • Jaaxy

  • Moz

  • Google Keyword Planner

  • Keyword.io

  • Keywords Everywhere

Picking between these depends on your budget and level of understanding.

Sometimes affordability and simplicity are the two best tools for any business just starting out in the SEO world.

THE KEYWORD TOOLS

JAAXY

Jaaxy is my first and favorite keyword research tool. It’s intuitive, instructional, and provides an abundance of beneficial information. Therefore, it not only works as a tool but as a source of information for those who are looking to rank on Google.

ABOUT JAAXY keyword tool

Above is a sample of the Jaaxy dashboard and metrics.

Above is a sample of the Jaaxy dashboard and metrics.

Jaaxy is LOADED with metrics. That’s really where its value comes from. These metrics help you determine the best keywords for your topics, thus improving your odds at gaining Google traffic. Below I list and explain some of Jaaxy’s main metrics.

  • KEYWORD

This is simply the keyword you are trying to find information on. However Jaaxy also gives you a long list of alternatives. These alternatives all show the comparative metrics (as shown above). This helps you decide which keyword phrase works best for you.

  • AVG

“AVG” is the the average number of searches a keyword gets in a given month. This is definitely an estimate, but still beneficial for identifying trends. The higher the number the more searches a keyword (or phrase) receives.

  • TRAFFIC

Traffic is the estimated amount of traffic you will receive if you rank on the first page of Google. It’s important to note however that at times I find this to be incredibly inaccurate - so definitely take this metric with a grain of salt. If the phrase shows it’s been searched fir - don’t be afraid to use it.

  • QSR

QSR is the metric that shows the number of websites ranking for this exact keyword. Your goal should be to have a QSR of less then 100 and therefore a better chance to rank!

  • KQI
KQI is a unique Jaaxy tool used to help you evaluate the quality of the keywords. It helps you determine the odds of ranking based on the previously mentioned results. Green means the keywords are quality while red means you will likely not rank. Try to target the green KQI words.

    • Green=Great

    •  Amber=Normal

    • Red=Poor

  • SEO

The “SEO”power indicator determines the odds of ranking on the first page of Google - the higher the number the better. It means competition is low and the returns n the keyword or phrase is high. Use it as a general guide but don’t get too hung up on it.

  • RELATED

    • Jaaxy also has a “related” tab that can come in handy when determining which keyword phrases may perform better then the phrase you chose.

Pros:

  • In depth analysis of keywords

  • Lots of keyword alternatives

  • SEO informational content

  • First 30 searches are free

  • Affiliate program (who doesn’t love making money while gaining website traffic?)

Cons:

  • Can be pricey after trial

  • Can be overwhelming to new users

MOZ KEYWORD EXPLORER

Keyword Research Tool Image.jpg

The best part of the Moz Keyword Explorer is that it can be free - if you only need ten searches a month. It’s also one of the easiest platforms to understand. It even allows you to see which websites are ranking for the terms you search (helping give you headline and content ideas). This is found under SERP analysis.

The Moz keyword explorer has 4 main features as pictured above:

  • MONTHLY VOLUME

The amount of estimated searches the keyword gets in a month. The higher the number the more traffic you will receive but the more difficult it is to rank.

  • DIFFICULTY

Difficulty is how difficult it is to rank for a given keyword. The lower the number the easier it is to rank.

  • ORGANIC CTR

This is the organic click through rate - meaning how often people click these words to find what they are looking for. A higher CTR score, the better the odds of an organic click through to your post.

  • PRIORITY

Priority is the metric that sums the results of all of the previous metrics. The higher the priority - the better overall you are of gaining traffic with these keywords from Google. This is similar to the “SEO” score in Jaaxy.

Use these metrics to help you determine the quality and competition of your keywords.

Pros:

  • 10 Free Searches Every Month

  • Easy to Understand Metrics

  • In Depth Metrics and Suggestions

Cons:

  • Only 10 Searches a Month

  • Paid Plans Can Go From $99 to $199

GOOGLE KEYWORD PLANNER

Google Keyword Planner is the perfect FREE SEO tool.

Google Keyword Planner is the perfect FREE SEO tool.

For people on a budget, Google Keyword planner is your best bet because it’s entirely free. It’s also Google’s product; therefore there is some merit behind the information you are receiving - since the number one search engine in the world IS Google.

However, getting to Keyword Planner can seem confusing and misleading. Let me emphasize, this is completely FREE. However, be very careful to not have any promotions running (this has happened to me before). When it asks for your payment method don’t worry - it’s simply to sign up the account. If; however, you have setup advertising you will get charged.

Therefore, Google is a fantastic resource, just be cautious!

To start you are going to have to go to the:

  1. Google Keyword Planner site (click here)

  2. Sign in with your Google account (most people have a Google account, it’s also your YouTube, Gmail, GSuite account). If you don’t have an account make one.

  3. Next you are going to have to fill out information about your business - don’t worry you won’t be buying anything, just follow this step so you can access the keyword tab.

  4. You will come to page asking you about your first campaign. Throw a few keywords about your blog in and continue on. I promise - you still won’t have to buy anything. This page will looks like this:

Main page for Google Keyword Planner.

5. After you have scrolled to the bottom of this page, you will be redirected to billing. Yes, you will need to enter your bank account information and agree to their terms and service, but I promise you still won’t have to pay.

6. After linking your bank account and accepting their terms of service you will finally be able to access Keyword Planner (trust me, it’s worth all of this hassle).

You will come across this page:

Google Keyword Planner Start Page.jpg

7. Click on the box that says “Find new keywords”.

8. You’ve MADE IT! Type in your words and you will see results that look something like this:

Screenshot of Google Keyword Planner!

Screenshot of Google Keyword Planner!

As you can see, not only does the Google Keyword Planner give you competition and average monthly searches, but it also gives you tons of long-tail phrases! I have 2,000 pages of content to choose from. How amazing is that?

Pros:

  • Free

  • Easy to understand

  • Google’s product

Cons:

  • Confusing to access

  • Lacks advanced metrics

  • The lack of metrics can make some searches seem too easy to rank for

Although it lacks a few of the more in depth metrics, it’s hard to beat Google Keyword Planner for the average blogger and business owner.

KEYWORDTOOL.IO

Keyword.IO is a simple SEO tool.
Find long-tail keywords for Google Keywords.

If absolute simplicity is what you need then Keyword.io is perfect for you. This is because:

  • It’s easy to access

  • You don’t need to link your bank account

  • There are advanced metrics you can pay for if you wish

  • The basic version is easy and free

However, it shows you NO competition (or any metrics for that matter) in it’s free version. Instead it works more as a suggestion tool - helping you quickly find long tail keywords to use in your content as pictured below. It’s a super easy way to come up with blog topics that you could potentially rank for without the clutter and confusion in some of the other platforms.

Cons:

  • Not as in-depth as other metrics

  • Keyword.io works great as a quick solution to finding keyword phrases to rank for; however, it isn’t nearly as comprehensive as the other options.

You can find Keyword.io by clicking here.

KWFINDER.COM

The KWFinder is the latest tool I’ve started utilizing, and it is quickly becoming a favorite. It is an intuitive and easy to use platform that is perfect for beginners and avid website owners alike.

KWFinder has both a free and paid option. The free option allows for 5 searches within 24 hours including all metrics and 50 suggestions. This is all the average blogger or small business owner would likely ever need.

However, for those with higher demands there are plenty of paid for options available as well.

It’s also loaded with metrics. The most prominent metrics on the site include:

  • Keyword Difficulty: Keyword Difficulty is the KWFinder’s metic to help you determine how difficult it can be to rank.

  • Search Volume: Search volume on KWFinder is similar to other platforms and is simply the monthly searches this term receives.

  • CPC: Unless you are wondering what the cost per click (CPC) is for paid advertising, CPC is not going to be much use to you. In most cases you can ignore this factor.

  • PPC: PPC is the level of competition per click (called pap per click). If you aren’t interested in paid advertising on Google, then this can be ignored as well.

  • SERP (pictured below): As mentioned in the MOZ section, SERP stands for “search engine results page”, which is really just the list of websites that rank for these terms. This is beneficial because it shows you just how difficult ranking for certain terms can be (good luck trying to rank against entrepreneur.com) while also showing you the stats that each site has in their favor.

Take some time to browse the SERP feature and learn the metrics shown below. This can be incredibly beneficial when trying to properly understand SEO and what it takes to have a successful blog.

Google SERP can be used to see what blog posts are ranking for the keywords.

Which Keyword Tool is the Best for You?

Finding out which tools are right for you is highly dependent upon your skill level, budget and workload. The higher end products such as Moz or Jaaxy come with an incredible assortment of features to help you succeed at your highest level. However, their upgrades come at a price and a learning curve.

For those who are new and on a budget, sometimes sticking with Google Keyword Planner is the best option. Just be prepared for signing up and setting up your Google Adwords account.

Perhaps the perfect solution for you is simply using a combination of the free features on all of these platforms. Try each out, learn about their differences, and then decide if upgrading is right for you.

5 Facebook Groups That EXPLODED My Blog and Business Traffic!

Facebook on the Phone.jpg

*Yes I have affiliates - it' show I help keep this free information FREE! However, it's products that I beleive in and comes at no extra cost to you.

Facebook is an INCREDIBLE source of website and blog traffic.

I recently wrote a post how Facebook groups started my blog off on the right foot. It helped drive traffic, increase Pinterest rep-ins, gain Pinterest follows, and increased my Google SEO rankings. However, I must add that it also brought my Facebook page to life. In face, my Nicole Stone Outdoors page now has thousands of followers and reaches tens of thousands of people per post.

However, as I mentioned in Facebook guide, it’s about the quality of the groups - not the quantity.

That’s why I’ve compiled a list of my FAVORITE groups. These groups have ACTIVE members and keep well-managed collaboration threads.

You can also learn about my 5 unique strategies for building traffic (what’s helped me break the 50,000 pageview mark).

THE 5 GROUPS YOU NEED

Facebook Groups you NEED to join!

BLOGGERS UNITE

I use Blogger’s Unite as many times as possible during the week. This is because it is the ultimate group for Pinterest users.  There are active “re-pin threads” ever single day.  This gives you tremendous opportunity to share your pins that need a boost and build long term momentum. It also has over 7,000 members and is continuously growing.

Check out Blogger’s Unite by clicking here.

BLOGGING FOR NEW BLOGGERS

One of the best ways to generate Pinterest authority is through pinning directly from your website/blog.  Groups like Blogging For New Bloggers allows you to share these links with fellow bloggers.

The group offers numerous different blog comment and share threads including a generic “Share Day”, a “Blog Share Day” “Comment Day” and even “Social Share” days (when you can share any social media platform of your choice).

This is one of the BEST groups for building an audience.

Blogging for New Bloggers is ran by Lucrezia and Marina from https://tinylovebug.com/. You can join Blogging For New Bloggers here.

MAKING SENSE OF AFFILIATE MARKETING

This is one of the most, if not the most, beneficial group that exists on Facebook.  Michelle is world known for making millions of dollars from blogging. Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing is her Facebook group.

She not only gives you access to very high quality collaboration threads but also gives you direct access to HER. It’s like having a free consultant - FREE advice from someone who has literally made millions at blogging.

She answers questions, helps motivate you, and has some of the world’s biggest bloggers in her group.  This is a must have for success (it’s also my favorite group).

You can grab Michelle's course and INCREDIBLE Facebok group "Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing" here.

BOSS GIRL BLOGGERS

Boss Girl Bloggers is huge. It has over 30,000 members and is growing.

It also works by providing tons of exposure to both your blog and your brand. However, where Boss Girl Blogger’s stands out is in its Instagram promotion. There is even a sister group that is exclusively Instagram collaboration threads. Therefore if Instagram is your thing - then DEFINITELY take advantage of this group. Of course, the weekly blog promotion and general conversations are bonuses as well.

Members are very active and passionate - and you will get a solid return on your time investment.

You can check out Boss Girl Bloggers by clicking here.

Improve your ENTIRE social media :

SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORK GROUP

The social Media Network Group is for the serious influencers who want to build up their followings in ALL social media and search engine platforms.  It has over 18,000 members and focuses on more specific goals such as improving your Alexa ranking and building up your YouTube ranking.

It’s important to note that these require reciprocating with everyone. I normally suggest people shy away from such large time commitments; however, the shear amount of promotion that this group offers makes it well worth it.

You can sign up for the Social Media Network Group by going here.

What to Do if Pinterest Blocks Your Website (Complete Guide!)

There has been an influx of websites marked as "spam" on Pinterest lately.  This means people's websites are becoming blocked and every one of their links being considered spam.   If this is you, don't worry.  I have the solution.

I woke up one ambitious morning only to find that Pinterest had marked my site as spam.  That's right, it blocked every single pin on Pinterest (I have hundreds). The message I received in return? "Sorry we blocked this link because it may lead to spam".  There is absolutely nothing "spammy" about my site.

The dreaded message I received when Pinterest blocked my website.

The dreaded message I received when Pinterest blocked my website.

Pinterest is my second biggest source of traffic (next to Google) so a loss of Pinterest is a major hit to my business.   The other issue that concerned me was with customer service.  Social media platforms have terrible customer services. Pinterest is no different.

There is no:

  • Direct Customer Support

  • Chat Windows

  • Numbers to Call

There is literally no direct help.  There is only a FAQ page which will eventually lead you to a button that you can click on that will redirect your to a form...  You will need to get to this form.  To help you out, here is the link: Pinterest Help Center.

Once you are there, follow these instructions:

FILL OUT THE "WHAT DO YOU NEED HELP WITH?*" BOX

You will see "What do you need help with?*" box. Make sure to click on "Business accounts".

Pinterest for Business Help

FILL OUT THE "TELL US MORE*" TAB

When the "Tell us more*" box pops up, be sure to click on "Pinterest blocked my site".

Pinterest Blocked My Site

CLICK ON "I STILL NEED HELP"

Pinterest will then notify you of why they think your site should be blocked.  Don't bother with this. If you know your URL is good, scroll to the bottom and hit the red button that says "I still need help".

Pinterest "Still Need Help" Buttom

FILL OUT THE POPUP FORM

Once you click on "I still need help" you will receive a form box to your right as shown below.  You will have to fill out that box.  For title put " Pinterest incorrectly blocked my site" or something similar.

In "Description" put " My site was incorrectly blocked..." with a short detail.  If your WHOLE site is blocked (every pin is marked as spam) then be sure to add that to your message.

Also, you MUST add:

  • Your Website URL

  • A link to a pin that is showing that it's blocked

Then (this is ** important**) copy that exact description you just wrote because you will need it again.

Above is an example of the Pinterest Help Form that appears when trying to appeal the block.

SUBMIT THE INFORMATION

After you hit submit you NEED TO WAIT to receive an email confirmation.  This may take some time to hit your inbox; however, you must be ready when it does (be sure to check spam, social, or promotional folders if you don't see it). You will need to respond in a timely matter.

PINTEREST WILL SEND YOU AN EMAIL

Responding to this email is ESSENTIAL to them fixing the issue.  Be sure to watch for the email (it may end up in spam).

This should be addressed within 48 hours. If it isn't, then try to contact them again.  Another piece of advice I received from a blogger was to also have other bloggers report the issue for you and/or have Tailwind (if you have an account) help you out as well.
